When Google first told the world about the AdSense program that they had created, no one anticipated how much the program would change the internet. Some of the changes were good while other changes weren't so good. The one thing that everyone can agree on is that Google's AdSense program has changed how webmaster's help cover their expenses, how things are marketed, and even how web surfers explore the internet. <br /><br />

A common misconception that many people have is that AdSense was the internet's first big marketing plan. It wasn't. Before AdSense came around advertisers were using a program called AdWords. When an advertiser signed up for AdWords, they were guaranteed that their advertisement would reach a large number of people because the advertisement was placed at the very top of Google's search results page.
